Looking to get connected to other LGBTQ+ folks or thinking about coming out? Not sure what to do or where to turn for advice and support?

Q Connection is a safe, informal space to listen, discuss and learn, surrounded by community. This group is open to all LGBTQ+ folks, as well as to those who choose to not label themselves and those that support the community!

Stay Proud, Be Loud Happy Hour  

Join our friends from The Center – Pride Center San Antonio and meet Mathew Shepard’s parents and local law enforcement at Luther’s Cafe on Wednesday, March 20th, at 5:30pm to talk about how critical and important it is to report hate crimes in our community.

Matthew Shepard was a Laramie Wyoming College student whose was murdered for being Gay. His murder inspired the Federal Hate Crime Prevention Act.

Through the Matthew Shepard Foundation, Judy Shepard continues to share her son’s story and works to change the hearts and minds of others to simply accept everyone. Her message is one of understanding, compassion, and acceptance in order to erase hate.

Queer Voices Speak

The Center – Pride Center San Antonio – Queer Voices Speak – featuring poetry and spoken word is Thursday, March 21st, 6:30pm – 8:30pm, at The Center – Pride Center San Antonio, 1303 McCullough Ave, Ste 160!

Come listen to these powerful voices and share your own on the 3rd Thursday of each month!

A community Fiesta Medal event with music, food, and more is happening March 24th, 11am – 4pm, at Mission San Juan Capistrano.

Fiesta Youth will be selling medals and tickets to their Fiesta Event.

Síclovía is a free, bi-annual event, organized by the YMCA of Greater San Antonio, that turns city streets into a safe place for exercise and play.

Síclovía is happening, Sunday, March 31st, 11am – 3pm.

The family-friendly event encourages residents and visitors to get out, get active and explore their city through car-free streets. The Y accomplishes this by activating parks, bringing exposure to local businesses and inviting community organizations. Participants can enjoy walking, biking, exercise classes, activities for youth, treats for their pets, food trucks and more.

San Antonio Book Festival

The Book Festival will be held on Saturday, April 6th, at the Central Library and the Southwest School of Arts, from 9am – 5pm.   More than 90 national, regional, local and emerging authors will be featured.

The festivities will also include author presentations, panel discussions, book sales and signings, children’s and teen activities, family activities, learning projects, a marketplace and food trucks. Free admission.

The MarketPlace in Helotes

Saddle up and get ready for The MarketPlace at Old Town Helotes Saturday, April 6th! Music, food, and a good time are served up, and local craftsmen fill Old Town with treasures from across South Texas.

Happening the first Saturday every month, The MarketPlace is located in the heart of Old Town Helotes near the historic Floore Country Store and scenic Helotes Creek. Jewelry, arts and crafts, fresh produce, and one-of-a-kind pieces will be displayed. Additionally, local boutiques will open their doors and offer visitors a taste of Old Town Helotes! Gates open at 10am and close at 5pm. Gather the kids and come down to Old Town for a day of fun. MarketPlace proceeds benefit community activities within the City of Helotes.

103rd Anniversary Fiesta Oyster Bake 

The Fiesta Oyster Bake® celebrates its 103rd Anniversary in 2019 is taking place April 12th – 13th at St. Mary’s University.

This scholarship fundraising music festival features five stages of entertainment offering continuous Rock, Country, Tejano/Latin, R&B/Hip Hop, Pop and Children’s music from national, regional and local recording artists, as well as a full carnival.

The event also features 100,000 oyster sold baked, raw and fried, plus 70+ food and beverage booths

The 34th Annual Taste of New Orleans  

The 34th Annual Taste of New Orleans will be held on April 12th-14th, at the Sunken Gardens.

There will be a wide assortment of New Orleans-style food including:  gumbos, red beans and rice, shrimp creole, etouffee, shrimp kabob, jambalaya, cajun catfish, soft shell crab, crab au gratin, crab rolls, fresh crawfish boil, boudin, alligator, and more.

Listen to live musical performances while you eat. Also there will be kids’ rides, play areas, clowns and face painting.

SoFlo Market is on Saturday, April 13th. Market hours are from 10am-5pm.

SoFlo Market is a family friendly and pet friendly event, that features a lively art scene and an alternative shopping experience that includes: handmade and vintage treasures from local artists and vendors, including jewelry, handmade soaps, recycled art, home accessories, skincare, fine art, pottery, local food truck cuisine, artistic activities for kids, and more.

PRIDE Families Easter Celebration  

Grab the kids and animals and come out to Crockett Park for a FREE family afternoon of Spring Easter fun on Sunday, April 14th, 1pm – 3:30pm!

The Center’s PRIDE Families in partnership with area LGBTQ+ organizations work together to bring LGBTQ+ and Ally families together to form lasting friendships and networks in a safe and inclusive environment.

Food and refreshments will be provided. We will also have an Easter Egg Hunt and games and activities for the kids and the kid at heart. Look forward to seeing you there! Please invite your friends and family!

Fiesta® San Antonio started in 1891 as a one-parade event as a way to honor the memory of the heroes of the Alamo and the Battle of San Jacinto.

That historic commemoration still takes place, but for more than a century, Fiesta® has grown into a celebration of San Antonio’s rich and diverse cultures. Fiesta® has evolved into one of this nation’s premier festivals with an economic impact of more than $340 million for the Alamo City. Funds raised by official Fiesta® events provide services to San Antonio citizens throughout the year.

5th Annual Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil  

Prepare to be enchanted and amazed at the 5th Annual Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil on Saturday, April 20th, at 7 PM – 12 AM, at  The Veranda located at 1746 Lockhill-Selma Rd, Castle Hills.

This is an official Fiesta Event! It’s a Masquerade Extravaganza to benefit Fiesta Youth, San Antonio’s Premier LGBT Teen and Young Adult Support and Enrichment Program.

Step back in time to the roaring 1920’s at the beautiful and spacious Veranda of Castle Hills. Enjoy an open bar of specialty cocktails, wine and cold beer, along with a 5 course Fiesta-themed menu prepared by renowned Chef Michael Bomberg.

Enjoy the lineup of live entertainment, live music, dancing, photo booth, and a spectacular silent auction! And, witness the excitement as scholarships are awarded to the youth scholarship winners for this year.

2019 Entertainment Line-Up!

Dez and Greg and the Buddy System – a band that prides itself in producing custom musical performances that engage audiences from around the world. Imagine the versatility of a DJ but from a LIVE BAND.  Everyone will be dancing all night long.

Singer/Songwriter Laura Marie returns to the Midnight event for the third time. Audiences are continually drawn in to Laura Marie’s performances because of her amazing talent,  honesty and passion. We are excited to have Laura Marie’s support and her music back at our event for Fiesta Youth.

DFNTLY Entertainment – These Performing Artists will be coming to the event to perform high energy stunts, be interactive with our guests and pose for pictures. They will add a great energy to the event all night long. Get your cameras ready.

DJ Rook will be spinning great music all night long. He  brings such excitement and great music throughout the night.

Grupo Folklorico de Bendiciones Dance Team – This team has been huge supporters of Fiesta Youth for years. and we are happy to have them back to entertain our guests with their impressive and classic dances. Their mission is to spread the passion of dancing folklorico in our community and beyond.

Fiesta Artisan Show

Over 40 artisans display and sell their beautiful handmade merchandise along the San Antonio Riverwalk. Artisans are different for each show, but usually include pottery, textiles, jewelry, woodwork, paintings, bead-work and more.

The show is free to attend. Artisans display and sell their beautiful handmade merchandise along the San Antonio River Walk. River Walk extension (close to the Chamber of Commerce building and Shops at Rivercenter)

Fiesta Youth 

Youth  (Teen)  Meetings  are  held  every Tuesday from 6:30pm to 8:30pm  at the University Presbyterian Church, located at 300 Bushnell.  Next Meeting is March 26th

New location for Fiesta Youth will be at Woodlawn Pointe beginning April 2nd.

All youth aged 12-18 are welcomed to come join a Fiesta Youth Meeting. The youth meetings were created to provide a safe, non-judgmental, affirming place for all LGBTQ youth. Every Tuesday, the youth meet at UPC to meet new friends, participate in fun games and activities (field trips, too!), and join in on group discussions.

San Antonio Front Runners

A group of GLBTI runners/walkers  get together on Sunday mornings at 9:00 (in the summer). They leave from the garage behind the Witte Museum in Brackenridge Park (Avenue B and Tuleta Drive).

Alamo City Wranglers

The Wranglers are a GLBTQ & Friends Square Dancing Club.

They meet every Thursday, 7:30pm to 9:30pm, at The International Folk & Culture Center at Our Lady of the Lake University, 411 SW 24th St, Building 23 .

You can park in lot B.  **Except the week before IAGSDC convention, Thanksgiving, and the Christmas/New Year holiday weeks.

If you like to sing and harmonize with others, join the Live Oak Singers (LOS). They practice every Monday at 6:30pm – 9:30pm, at Woodlawn Pointe, 702 Donaldson Ave.

LOS include beginners to those who have degrees in music. They particularly need more female singers. LOS sing a wide variety of music from Broadway, pop, madrigal, country, gospel, barbershop and soft rock.

If you would like to join LOS this season, please let them know via email at ( so they can make arrangements for an audition time.  You are also welcome to sit in on a few rehearsals prior to auditioning to get to know us a bit prior to auditioning.  New singers will work with the Artistic Director to determine your vocal range, ability to match notes and stay on pitch, and determine your singing part (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass).   You DO NOT need to prepare a solo song for the audition.   Auditions will be held from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm prior to rehearsals starting.

Monthly Meetings

Stonewall Democrats (SDSA) meet every third Monday each month at Luther’s Café. Happy Hour starts at 6pm. Meeting starts at 6:30pm and finishes at 8pm. Bring your friends. Everyone is invited. Next Meeting is April 15th.

San Antonio Gender Association (SAGA) meets every first and third Thursdays of the month. Meetings are held from 6pm to 8pm at the MCC Church located at 611 East Myrtle. SAGA offers a welcoming and safe place for conversation, discussion, and support to transgender, gender nonconforming, non-binary, genderqueer, and intersex persons and to those who love and support them. Next Meeting is March 21st.

PFLAG San Antonio Meetings are held the first Thursday every month at 7:00pm at the University Presbyterian Church, 300 Bushnell Ave. Next meeting is April 4th.
