Stonewall Democrats Endorsement Meeting

International Woman’s Day March & Rally 
The 22nd Annual San Antonio IWD March & Rally is happening on Saturday, March 3rd. Readings From the Vagina Monologues 
In observance of Diversity Women’s History Month, Readings from the Vagina Monologues will be performed at the San Antonio Public Library Cortez Branch, 2803 Hunter Street, Saturday, March 3rd, 4pm – 6pm.
The monologues are a special part of the Library’s observance of Women’s History Month. The readings are selections from the local chapter of VDAY!Everyone is invited!
Siclovia is a non-competitive event that temporarily closes down a busy street opening it up to walkers, joggers, cyclists, skateboarders… anyone whose idea is to get outside, get active and enjoy your community. The Siclovia path is about two miles or four-miles round trip, route is on Broadway, basically from Brackenridge Park to McCullough. Siclovia will last only five hours beginning on Sunday, March 4th, at 10am and ending at 3pm.
In addition, Siclovia is a fun, family event. Pets are welcome. Because pets are welcome, there will be doggie first-aid stations and drinking stations. Also, every half mile there will be Reclovias set up. Reclovias are recreation stations that will offer cardio kickboxing, Zumba, yoga, basketball and other physical activities.
The entire focus of Siclovia is to get people outdoors and engaged in physical activity. It’s free.
The San Antonio AIDS Foundation (SAAF) along with Ocho are bringing you another amazing night out to get revved up for WEBB Party. Tuesday, March 6th, will be the next WEBB Kick-Off event at Ocho at Hotel Havana, 1015 Navarro St, 6 – 8:30pm.

The SA LGBT Chamber of Commerce is inviting everyone to attend this informative workshop on Wednesday, March 7th, 6-8pm, at the St. Anthony’s Hotel,Travis Room, 300 East Travis Street. The workshop is presented by Emily Persyn with AXA Advisors, LLC and Guest Speaker, Jan Jackson, Attorney, Janet L. Jackson, PLLC.
The workshop offers professional guidance on:
• Creating financial strategies within the regulatory environment
• Planning options that can help cover legal gaps and tax issues
• Managing issues of disability income and life insurance
• Preparing for retirement and estate planning strategies

V-Day 2012 in San Antonio will present a three-night only benefit reading of Eve Ensler’s award-wining play “The Vagina Monologues” at the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center. The three-day performance on March 7th, 8th & 9th, comprised of local community actresses, will benefit The Rape Crisis Center, The Battered Women’s Shelter, and the P.E.A.C.E. Initiative.
The English Performance is Wednesday, March 7th, 7pm.
Latin novella star, Ana Laura Espinosa, will lead the cast on March 8th & 9th when the play will be performed in Spanish, 7pm.

St Patrick’s Day Fundraiser – San Antonio Pride Center 
On St. Patrick’s Day, March 17th, 6 – 9pm, at the Saint Showbar, a fabulous fundraider for the San Antonio Pride Center will be happening. There will be door prizes, raffle and silent acution. It’s sure to be a fun time while helping a great cause!
Movie Night: Paragraph 175
Our Lady of the Lake University’s Alliance will be showing the movie, Paragraph 175, on Thursday, March 22nd, at 6pm. The film will be shown at the Sueltenfuss Library, on the OLLU campus, 411 S.W. 24th Street
Rupert Everett narrates this documentary about the Nazi persecution of homosexuals during World War II. “Paragraph 175″ refers to the old German penal code concerning homosexuality, which was used to justify the prosecution of gay men during the war. Over 100,000 were arrested and between 10,000 and 15,000 were sent to concentration camps. There will be a guest speaker, Professor Jonathan Lee, from San Antonio College who will talk about the LGBT community during the Holocaust. He will be available for Q&A after the film.
Every first Tuesday of the month at 7pm, the Alamo City Rollergirls hold tryouts at the Rollercade, 223 Recoleta Rd. They are looking for positive, eager, athletic and motivated woman to be a part of our team! You must have basic skating skills, meaning: speed up, slow down, cross overs at the turns, good stability on your skates and we will show you the rest.
Please arrive by 7 p.m. and look for the skaters in green. Say Hi and sign-in and you will be given instructions.
They are also looking for referees, volunteers and sponsors. You are encouraged to come out and they will fill you in on details.

A group of GLBTI runners/walkers who get together on Sunday mornings at 9:00 (in the summer). They leave from the garage behind the Witte Museum in Brackenridge Park (Avenue B and Tuleta Drive).
The Wranglers are a GLBT Square Dancing Club. They meet every Thursday, 7:30pm to 9:30pm, at the Community UCC, located at 4443 Hunnicut.

San Antonio Gender Association (SAGA)
SAGA meets every first and third Thursdays of the month. Meetings are held from 6pm to 8pm at the MCC Church located at 611 East Myrtle. SAGA offers a welcoming meeting place for transgendered persons and their friends and family who support them. The next meeting is March 1st.
PFLAG San Antonio
PFLAG Meetings are held the first Thursday of every month at 7:00 pm at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Antonio. Southeast corner of I-10 and 410. The next meeting is March 1st.
